By the declining day, (1) Lo! man is a state of loss, (2) Save those who believe and do good works, and exhort one another to truth and exhort one another to endurance. (3)

assalamualykum,
i am really new in Islam,(though,i was born muslim). i still have a lot to learn.my question is,is it permissible in Islam,to draw these types of figures or illustrations of people?i want to know this,as i have put an end to my hobby of drawing,because, among the religious people of my country,there is a big 'no no' about it.i am sorry for my ignorance and will be grateful to know the answer.
